Are we in the Uk due thunderstorms today?

or was that odd clap of thunder last night the biggy thunderstorm that the met office keep banging on about...is the worst still to come?

I'm in Northampton by the way and the only reason I wanna know is we only have to have a little bit of thunder n lightning and we end up with no power :-/

I'm going to be out in the open in Surrey this afternoon and already it looks and smells like it's going to thunder

Yes....   the pattern has changed from two weeks ago... warm, moist unstable air now.. conducive to showers and thunderstorms
