  1. We do respond- with facsination. We are naturally drawn to and enjoy horrific events. Even when it happens to us, after a while we seem to reflect on it kind of proudly. It is human nature.

  2. the more we are exposed to trauma, the less it bothers us.

our conscience tells us when something we are doing is bad or good. it has a similar effect when we see, or hear about something bad that happens. over time we aren't affected as much mentally or emotionally by traumatic events.

  3. Dont forgive. But wait for some time before conclusions. Let some private agency investigate and come out with proof who didi it. Whether it is 911 or Gujarat all proved to be masterminded by rulers.

  4. You have asked a question worth pondering. It is time this problem is attended seriously by governments of all states of the world.

Bombardment of criminal news has a deeply penetrating effect on children and affect the development of their personality. Some fascinated by such crimes become criminals and others horrified by them live a fearful life.

It devlops into an unhealthy society.

  5. I think we still have a response but we get hit with news from so many sources so rapidly that we barely have time to process what we hear before the next horrific crime or disaster is presented  to us so we keep moving from one terrible happening to the next, never really dwelling on one for very long. (911 may be the exception, as I still shudder at the thought)
