Are we looking at a Pittsburgh/Detroit final again within the next 5-10 years..?

Although the Wings roster may look old, they still have a lot of young talent. Datsyuk, Franzen, Cleary, Kronwall, and Zetterberg are all in their Mid-Late 20's. Hudler and Franzen are both 24. Guys like Jimmy Howard, Ville Leino, and Cory Emmerton look to have good careers ahead of them.

On Pittsburgh side, most guys are under 25. Crosby cant even drink yet and Malkin is only 21. These guys have many great years left.

In my opinion, i believe that the Pens and Wings will see each other in the finals again within the next 5-10 years.

Thoughts? Opinions?

  1. Could happen. Not very likely with parity though. It would be nice to see that kind of rivalry again

  2. Anything is possible.

  3. most likely

  4. Absolutely. Both teams are plenty stocked for the future.  i wouldn't be surprised if they play each other for the cup within 5 years.-----Again that is.

With that being said, the NHL might have a hard time growing it's audience if it keeps up, unfortunately.

  5. Nah, the Blackhawks will knock you guys out next year first or second round.  During the Season, they gave your boys a hard time.  Too bad the Blackhawks were not the eighth seed in the playoffs, things would have been different.

  6. I doubt it. Just don't think so. I think it'd be more like Penguins vs Coyotes.

  7. It's possible. Don't forget a couple of years ago they said the Wings would dry up and blow away. Well, it looks like they were wrong. The Red Wings have the best scouting and developmental organization in the game today.

And the Pens are young and talented. They look like they're going to be around for a while too.
