Are we naturally deviance? i mean are we born with it?

A child who gets in trouble will automatically deny it or blame somebody else. Before you say the child is too young to know the difference between right and wrong, why is it that the child usually always chooses the deviant behavior as his first choice of action?

I assume you mean are we naturally "deviant"?

In any case, that is the exact question sociology and criminology has been trying to answer for decades.

First, who defines what is deviant?  Why is a certain behavior deviant in one place, but not another, or deviant in one time period, but not another?

Second is the issue of biology.  Is there some sort of internal biological response or deficiency that makes us prone to deviant behavior?  Some say yes, many say no.

Then we have the social learning theories that suggest we learn deviant behavior from others and that we are basically blank slates when we come from the womb.

Then there are the social control theories that say we are born naturally deviant and the only reason we conform is because of a variety of inner and external controls on behavior.

Then there are the radical / conflict theories that argue any and all deviance is due to the oppression of a capitalist value system that has been created by the wealthy business owners.  We commit crime and deviance because we are trying to fight back against oppression or simply can't conform to the artificial standards created for us.

In other words, we don't have a real answer to your question, and I am unsure if it is possible to prove.

Deviance ? Do you mean "Devious" ? We are creatures of our environment and such behavior is learned. You are not "born" with it. Or do you mean are we natural deviants ? Please Define. This is somewhat confusing. TNX..........
