  1. Overpopulation theory depends on the idea that we have finite resources.

For example there was famine in India until we created dwarf wheat. Then we had enough food for everybody in India by changing that crop.

Increaces in productivity and technology make alot possible.

That said given current technology, we do seem to be making the world less habitable.

  2. Still no consensus on the carrying capacity of the earth for humans.

  3. I think we are. With all the medicines and technology we have, people aren't dying off as nature intended.

  4. of course v r.....u seriously dint noe that or what???

  5. No, we are not. If you put the entire human population inside the state of Texas each person would have enough room to make a house. Everyone in the world could visit New York City on New Year's Eve.

As far as resources go, there is enough food to feed each man, woman, and child on the planet. The reason some people starve is because the food is not being distributed properly.

If we stop having kids in order to curtail the population of the earth, we risk having a "gray" society. In countries like Japan and Germany, there are a lot of older citizens and not enough younger ones to take care of them. Do not follow this "over-population" propoganda. It is politically motivated.

  6. Not in Europe, our population is decreasing with each generation, and we have enough farmland to feed our population.

In the developing world yes. Another fifty years and they'll all start starving.

  7. Not yet, the earth still can hold 4 billion more people. But by that time, our population growth might be stable because of the family planning programs that are being encouraged. Our birth rate now is decreasing.

  8. Speaking using purely scientific logic - if you consider that no animal of our large size has ever had the population density and population size that we do; I believe that yes, we are overpopulating the Earth.  We are not dying off as we would in  nature.
