Question:

Are we oversaturated?

Does anyone else feel like their brain is being squeezed out of its harness by the sheer amount of TV, radio, internet, media, electronic, mechanical noise being broadcasted on a non-stop 24/7 extravaganza?

I can't remember the last time I just spent an hour alone in silence. Life seems faster than ever, and I wonder what long term impacts this will have for us.

Information overload, and not the kind of information I want or need. Your thoughts?

  1. i agree and the power button should be exercised.

    going for a walk

  2. I know I am.

  3. I have thought this same thing. I do believe we are over saturated. I am married, have children, am a full time student, I have a desire to make good choices politically (which means choosing a variety of valid news sources), somebody is always listenig to a movie or something on the computer, and I have the radio on NPR most of the time in the car for my 1.5 hour commutete, when I get home the noise of he fan and different appliances are going. When I sleep my husband snores really loudl. (smile) I don't even know if I could find a truly quiet place anymore.

  4. Thats why it pays off to sit and think Instead of watching TV sometimes, It helps with your state of mind.

  5. Information was always my business. The trick is to separate the garbage from what you need. Getting a quiet place is simple. Unplug it all and read a book or something for as long as it takes.

  6. I think people purposefully fill their lives with noise so they don't have to think about how bad things are these days.  It is also a never ending race to "keep up with the Joneses".  Bigger, better, clearer, faster, newer,  more, more, more....
