If the Republicans admit that the War is unwinnable, they have nothing to stand on! The war is the second biggest issue concerning voters, and if the illegal war is failing, their election fails. They have to brainwash their people to tout that we are winning the war! Sad but True.  I would like to believe that people aren't that stupid!

The "war on terror" is just a catchy puclic-media phrase. It's the same imperialistic policy which has plagued the world throughout the 20th century. This plague simply puts on different names in public to confuse people like yourself into thinking that these are just "temporary campaigns". No war and no victory.

Some of the milblogs I read have been saying for a while that the war is won.  Not "over", because there's still mopping up, but effectively won.

In fact, I think the Marines are getting bored and asking to go over to Afghanistan.

We won the war in Iraq in 2003, when we toppled Saddam's regime. After that we are basically setting up a democratic government and helping them in policing the state until their own forces are in shape to do it themselves.

Now as for the "war on terror", that is a war against a concept, and you can't win that by force.

Yes we are winning in Iraq. Go there and walk around anywhere. Walk around Anbar province and you'll see the incredible progress we've made. Liberals in the media and the deomcratic party don't want to admit it because if they do, they will assuredly lose in the election.

I am a soon to be Marine and speak with Marines who have been to Iraq, who have fought in combat and have seen the progress Iraq has made.  The media is bias. They will tell you the bad and only the bad.
