So my cuzin just got married. Her new husband has a brother. Am I related to her husbands brother???

  8. you have to consider related by blood or by marriage. There is no reason to believe anyone who marries into your family is related to you by blood (although there are coincidences from time to time). Your cousin's husband is just some random man who happens to be involved with someone in your family; his brother is of no blood relation BUT culture determines what that means to you (in my family, if you marry in, you are family; i couldn't figure out who my "real" aunts and uncles were until i was like 10 years old).

  9. Well not by birth, but you are by marriage. Just like he's your cousin-in-law so is his brother.
