Are we robbing the Earth by taking all the oil?

By sucking up all the oil out of the ground, is there a long-term consequence for the planet? It feels wrong to be doing this and would seem at some point have some environmental impact that I would suspect would not be good for human life.

  1. Eventually the oil will run out. It's just a matter of time. Hopefully we'll have enough alternative energy sources by then....

  2. since you think that I need an "education in recent history" let's play "ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS"

no we aren't robbing the earth.... please... oil is a by product of decomposition. and I guess we'll find out in 40 years or so when the oil runs out.

  3. nope. as we r the part of the soul of the world this soul gives us thing s for our survival .but using oil too much is just harming urself or ur generations..(its just like when we give too much stress on our mind ,it resists and want rest...similarly we shuld use oils alternative also..)

  4. there will be more than enough oil for all of us once the American and British troops get through with those Iraqis

  5. No, but there are certain political parties that want to rob us for using oil and extort 'carbon credits' from us.

They also want our country and economy to collapse.

  6. I often thought about that myself and I don`t remember anyone in the science bringing that up.  I would imagine the oil is for something like keeping the iron thats in the earth from rusting and maybe the oil is to keep the earth a well oiled living machine. I also thought of the oil as being the earths blood and to a point blood letting can be healthy, but how much blood letting would be to much. It`s a good question that deserves an answer, but I `m not sure if any humans considered the effects of removing as much oil that is removed from the inside of the planet.
