Are we seeing the end of the Democratic Party?

Obama has an almost cult-like following from his supporters and no-one can deny that he has drawn massive crowds. With all this ferver and mass hysteria Obama just may win the election indeed. My take on this situation is ...with all the energy he has generated and interest he has sparked and if he still loses this election to John McCain I think the Democrat party is dead or severely damaged for years to come.

The latest polls have both candidates in a tie at 45/44. Obama has lost about 7-8 percentage points in the last week or so....I think the Democrats are in a great deal of trouble. This should be the Democrats year and Obama should be at least 10 points ahead...What do you guys think?

  1. I don't think so. If the question about Exxon paying more taxes than the lowest third of personal income taxpayers is any indication (see the question in this category), then the voters have the same low comprehension of how businesses operate as those elected officials in the Democratic Party. It is a classic case of the blind leading the blind, but it does give the party a base of support.

  2. if any party is ending, it's the republicans

  3. Probably not, but we are seeing that the public is tired of their nonsensical policies, and the fact that they have not passed any important legislation,  since they took control of Congress 2 years ago. Nancy Pelosi said they would stop pandering to special interest groups and bring down the price of oil; it was $ 60 a barrel at that time. They blame everyone except themselves: the speculators, big oil profits, they want to sue OPEC, they won't allow drilling or nuclear power, they subsidize ethanol causing  food prices to soar, and blame it on Bush. They have very little credibility left. They will now recess for August and will not allow a vote on drilling until after the election, because they don't want their  NO vote to have a negative effect on Obama and other dems.

  4. Your logic makes no sense.  Obama is clearly winning in  most polls and surveys and has an excellent chance of winning the election.  Democrats control both houses of Congress, a majority of governorships, and a majority of state legislatures.  And you somehow conclude that the end of the party is near?  I don't know if you're trying to make a point of some  sort or if you're just trolling.

  5. A few days ago you guys were singing about how whoever leads the summer polls is doomed. I supposed if John SIDNEY McCain pulls ahead, this will just be a unique year, right?

  6. I hope what we are seeing the end of liberal politics.  Conservative politics too.
