  1. Yes we are, although its is difficult to look at us objectively over a long period of time to determine evolutionary pattern. Can we alter this course? No. Evolution is not deterministic. The environment and interspecies reactions affect evolution and despite modern science, we can not say which way the world is heading.

  2. Evolution only takes place within a species lifespan, it does not jump from one species to another. A Chimpanzee will forever be a Chimpanzee, and the same goes for every other form of life on the planet, including man.

  3. of course it is maily expressed in the intelectual evolution

  4. Evolution is driven by selection.  If you want to change it, you have to change selection beyond that which is "normal".  It is called eugenics.  It may have been abused in the past but there is great potential in better selecting offspring in spite of potential abuse.

  5. Of course we are, and we can alter this course if we practice genetic manipulation to much, or s***w up our environment with nuclear or biological waste.

  6. of course we are, remember it takes millions of years for even to have slight changes, how can we alter? many ways genetic manipulation, changes in our diet, oh so many i could list and list and list...........

  7. We are all still evolving albeit very slowly. It take millions of years for visible changes, no matter how slight, to becomae apparent.

  8. We may still be evolving but we have already altered it. Survival of the fittest no longer takes place. for example people with mental handicaps (who would have died in a more primitive society) are now living out full lives and reproducing, creating people who stand a great risk of inheriting the same defect. The same happens with diseases that once killed its victims but is now treatable.
