  1. Yes.

  2. People are not animals.  People are people.  People are created in the image of God Himself (Jesus Christ).

  3. what value is it if nothing is nothing anyway. Is your eyes on heaven?

I am sure some animals only have one mate. Or birds....

  4. The hymen is a rarity in the animal kingdom. For the most part, there isn't really anything there to value, so to speak.

Desmond Morris had some interesting thoughts on this subject in some of his older works, you would likely find his books interesting.

  5. Yes.

    Species-based brain cramp.

  6. of course. chastisement is exclusively attributed to humanity from divinity. we value virginity because it is part of innocence, and innocence is holiness... from brith to death we stray away from it because the world is afflicted by iniquitous. because there is a Creator there is a fixed moral standard and compass within us. and please, do not shelf me along with animals crawling on all fours, creatures that can't think to do anything aside from self proliferation. God gave you and i a mind, so use it why don't you.

  7. Your question is invalidated by the fact that we humans are not animals...God bless you !

  8. Problem is "values" is a very subjective concept. Perhaps define virginity trying to avoid human concepts as "Capable of, but not choosing not to mate until an acceptable mate is found."

Other animals often do so for a short time.

Wouldn't be surprised if higher mammals are quite choosy over their mates, and can spend a similar length of time making a choice.

There was a nature program which covered dolphins. Apparently the males often chase young but mature females in the hope of encouraging them to mate. because they are water animals they also employ VERY high power sonar to encourage mating(which cause physical simulation), but even this sometimes fails

Female Koala's aren't too happy about mating. The female Kolas seem to climb trees to avoid the males. During mating the male Kola has to hang on to the female with teeth/claws, and this seems to cause the female Kola a LOT of pain. Can't see them liking this.

Our cat attacks ANY other, cats male, or female, who approach HER territory. Don't know if she's like this all year round/everywhere, but I've never noticed her behave any different!

Fairly sure Albatross are/try to be monogamous (single mate in a lifetime)

Swans seem to do this too. Knew of one male swan (on a pond near Hamsterley Forest(UK), whose mate had been killed by entanglement with discarded fishing line. He was well known as being exceptionally bad tempered, and he chased all other swans off the lake. He didn't like humans much either, and I was bitten on the arm by him once. Perhaps he had seen humans attempting to rescue his mate, and blamed all humans for his loss.

  9. We don't necessarily value virginity, we value organized mating beavior, which has traditionally taken the form of virginity until marriage in many (although certainly not all)societies.

Every species that I know of has set patterns and rules for who gets to mate with whom and when (ie. in a Pride of lions the alpha male mates with the alphas females, or buck deer fight with their antlers to see who gets access to a fertile female.)

  10. 'value of virgininty'  is a standard imposed for two reasons:  ensuring paternity and posessive vanity.  Guys like to own, control and think they are the only.

It ensures nothing as one can subsequently have another partner and not only that I recently saw an ad for hymen reconstruction.  WHATEVER!

When chastity, the real issue is an issue for guys THEN maybe it will be impressive.  Double standard NO question.

God is made by man and by saying 'god said' they think their dictates are more impressive and some buy into that.

  11. I'm thinking YES.

  12. Yes. But we aren't the only animals to construct some sort of code around sexuality (e.g. wolf pack only alpha male and alpha female mate).

Of course in the rest of the animal kingdom those observances are for population control only.

  13. We are not animals , we are the crown of His creation , we were made in His image ~

  14. And we are also the same beings who values marriage ... and yeah morality lol

  15. i'm under the impression we are the only animals that have values.

for the most part, virgin daughters were property given by their fathers to other men to secure alliances; giving a virgin daughter would ensure the potential husband the first child born from her would be sired by him ...you know that whole thing about paternity and stuff like that (you know, before blood and dna tests)...so ultimately, virginity is about wealth and the retention of wealth by the husband's family (or something like that)

in the "animal kingdom" though there are heirarchy orders, that doesn't mean there's no promiscuity going around. that being said, more sophisticated paternity testing is showing lifetime, monogamous pair-bonding doesn't really exist (we like to think so because of this idea of "noble nature" where there is a "reason" for everything and that the evils of civilization have corrupted man's nobleness--hence why people think animals do things for the "benefit of their species", no they don't. nature is violent. and pretty much every organism is looking out for #1...in a round about kinda way). there are a whole bunch of mating strategies that non-alpha animals may particpate in including trickery (salmon--i think, i forget), bribary (penguins) and rape (dolphins).

the form of population control practiced by wild animals is called "predation"

  16. We value that? since when?
