Prison is now about loss of liberty not serving a penance as before years ago....its no punishment .....to many criminals its just a hazard of there wrong doings....I say bring back the chain gangs and give them hard labor....Punishment and hard work ....

Even if as the do gooders claim wont make em straight ...at least they will not get a free ride in prison !

  1. you wouldn't last one day in prison and your talking about how easy it is lol

  2. I think there should be an island every hardcore criminal (Murderers, Rapists, Terrorists, etc.) should been sent to. Make sure there is no way for them to get off, no tecnology, no nothing but themselves. The movie "No escape" says it all.

  3. No, we're not too humane. Actually quite the opposite. We're imprisoning too many people who shouldn't be imprisoned. For instance, last year there were 800,000 incarcerations over marijuana-related offenses. We are wasting ridiculous amounts of money on this "war on drugs" that is really only creating more problems and as you have noticed wasting taxpayer money on prison terms instead of rehabilitation.

"It is the criminalization of addictive substances itself that creates such an enormous profit margin, attracting some of the worst forms of organized crime. The difference with illicit drugs is that these consequences have moved largely overseas. When our efforts to cut production and interdict transport succeed, prices in producing countries rise, providing additional incentives to grow the stuff. The drug cartels thrive on poverty, political instability, and chaos and frequently make alliances with terrorist groups that do the same." -Evan Thomas
