The word Terror appears in the Torah many times., it is describes as what all people sense when they are in the presence of anyone who comes for them as a act of God.

In other words TERROR is what a criminal feels when the police or even person comes after them, Torah says Terror is in the hearts of thos opposing God's will and all the storys carried out with the word describe examples of Moses, Jacob and many more who stood up for justice and equality faced not the men but God behind them.

Some of the passages state while several innocent died the tyrants where stopped., Terror is also what Moses and others felt in the presence of God.

So is it really a act of terror if another country uses man made bombs if nothing else is available or a poor man's military weapon.,

My question is not at all to point the finger at Israel, the media, or blame anyone responsible for the miss use, nor is it to claim anyone has a right to cause harm to civilians revenge or not.,

I just ask if this question has a racist background cause recently Russia attacked the homes of innocent people, been jewish as well the US stepped up as they would for Israel but no one called this TERRORISM.

  1. It was almost called an act of terrorism when Georgia attacked sleeping Tskhinval, if you want your question to be honestly answered. Generally, with all this sad situation in the world, soon terrorism indeed will be a word for describing any action of any foreign army. And if you have any faith in any religion, it will just be easier for them (who use this word) to convince you and make you die on their side of their war.

  2. you bet ye.

  3. Are you asking a question or stating a fact?

  4. Politicians use emotive words to get public opinion behind them...they are not necessarily the correct words..but as long as they do the trick and no one questions it then that's fine.

Some people are easily manipulated and by playing up the fire rather than the spark that started it, politicians and the media can turn the majority of the population to favour its own agenda.

We saw it with China/Tibet...we see it with Russia/Georgia...but we don't see it in ourselves because we are continually told by those same politicians that we are the good guys.

  5. I honestly don't think the people who came up with this "War on Terror" concept stopped for a moment to think about the etymology of the word, whether it is correct to use it in the context or not. They wanted something the average person in the street could identify with, and most people have a basic idea of terrorists as bogey men in black masks killing women and babies. So now everything they disagree with is "terrorism" and everything they condone isn't. History will judge their use of the phrase War on Terror as a monumental mistake because they've made everything black and white in a world full of nuances and greys.
