Are wedding balloons tacky for a wedding?

I saw some at a store,but alot of weddings I've seen never have balloon decorations,they just have them on their car.

we had them at our reception on the dance floor for kids to kick and play with. Just regular old balloons :)

I really like the idea of having them on the post-wedding vehicle.

I think having them at the ceremony can be tacky, unless it's handled well.

For example, I wouldn't suggest them as table decorations, but I don't think it would be tacky to have them as table decorations for the gift table. Make sense? I hope so, good luck!!!

I wouldn't do wedding "themed" balloons. Instead I would use a few at each table in your color scheme(s).

I assume you mean for the wedding reception?  For the actual ceremony, yes they would be tacky...I don't see anything wrong with them at a reception if used properly...meaning, goes with the color scheme of your wedding, used as decoration at the gift/sign in table, above the dance floor area, not at each table or chair....  I had deep purple balloons with silver ribbons and silver balloons with deep purple ribbons above our dance floor (this was a formal wedding held at a Country Club) and it did not take away from the elegance of the room at all.  You wouldn't want an overabundance of them all over the room, but they can be done tastefully.  If you are working with a wedding coordinator I'm sure she/he could help; or talk to those at the reception hall - they've probably seen everything over the years and can tell you what has looked good - they may even have pics.  Good luck!

My daughter had balloons on the tables for her reception.  They were the colors that complimented the table clothes and the bridesmaid flowers and the flowers on the wedding cake.   It was lovely -- Just make sure they are high enough so that people can see each other across the table and not have to look around a bunch of balloons.

They really aren't elegant enough for weddings in my opinion... think flowers, candles and fabric for decor :)

As an adult, I don't use balloons as a decoration unless, it's for my kids birthday party or maybe a baby shower.  Really, a wedding is adult affair, even if it's casual.  Show respect for the life cycle you're entering into.  Hold the balloons for your baby shower.

I definitely do not like the idea of balloons at a wedding.   That would be something that you would see on a wedding "do's" and "don'ts" list.  Unless of course if you are having a circus theme...then they would be quite appropriate.

yeah, unless they are on the vehicle in which the bride and groom ride away in, they are very tacky.

If you are having a formal reception, I think it's tacky. If you have a casual reception, it goes right with the theme.  They would not be used at all at the ceremony venue.

It all depends. For a formal wedding reception I think balloons look a little out of place (if they're over-done), but if it's more casual I don't see anything wrong with.

It's all a matter of personal preference.

Balloons are usually only affiliated with some type of a party. Weddings are way more formal and intimate so I don't feel that balloons would be appropriate especially for decorations.
