Are wedding tents less expensive than an actual building?

Ok, I'm trying to figure out if having a reception in a fabulous tent is less expensive than having it at a special venue. If so, any suggestions for any tent rentals? ( I'm in Southern Cali) Thanks for the help ppl.~Blessings

ck out places like fire depts or clubs like elks, moose, or places like that, they rent out rooms very cheap for a generous donation.

When I researched tents they were more expensive. I was looking for a tent with A/C  for my ceremony only-enough seating for 140 people . Tent was 40 X 50. Cost wiht A/C was almost $3000. $1600 of that was for the A/C.

For a reception you would need a tent 3 times the size I looked at. I think you will be in teh neighborhood of $10,000 for your tent rental.

WIth an actual venue, you may have food and bev. minimums to meet, but you will be hiring a caterer anyhow, so it just seems like a better way to allot your money to get an actual building.

I choose a venue instead. I ended up working for us best.

You have to have inspections and permits for the tents.... a real pain.

firstly when searching for them they're usually called marquees.

and don't forget you have to hire land to put them on too.

so you need to google it for your local area.
