Are white scaly patches on the throat strep throat? More info below....?

I've had a lot of strep throat, but I don't remember them looking SCALY. My 4 year old daughter's voice is hoarse, and I plan on taking her to the doctor tomorrow, but I just wondered if anyone knew about strep being scaly.

I know if you have red and sometimes white stuff inside your throat its strep throat at least thats what my doctor said to me when I had it. You should go to the doctor just in case.
