  1. Yes,unless the car was made before 1968 or so. Older cars had clear FRONT turn signals.

  2. YES,only legal as back up lits and rear spots.

  3. not sure what the ca laws are, but usually if the car was manufactured with a white lens for turn signals, its legal, ck with the motor vehicle dept

  4. in  the uk we have orqange turn (indicators) signals all round

if any white light shows through a crack in the glass or anywhere it will fail the mot, which means you cannot drive with out an mot as it is illeagle not to have one

buit in calafornia i would imagine that you to have to have orange turn lights

  5. yes they are illegal but you can clear them out and they make bulbs that look white when not blinking and are an amber color when they come on.

  6. Yes, if you are talking about rear signal lights.  It doesn't matter what colour they show when off, but they have to be red or amber when flashing.  The problem with using tinted bulbs and clear lenses is the way bulbs are tinted.  If you find and use bulbs with glass that is tinted while still liquid, that works well.  However, some bulbs are tinted by dipping into a liquid, and that reduces the output, making the lights dangerously dim.  As long as you are careful your attempt to look cool doesn't make you less visible on the road, go for it.

Front signal lights have a different law, they can be amber or white, but never red.

  7. With a yellow bulb, you are okay.  The lens is not required to be amber.  At least that used to be the case.  Many cars were made that way new in the 1960's, and 70's.

  8. Yes they are but before you put a clear cover on them especially in California, make sure that the lens have the (DOT) stamped on them or the covers will be illegal as well.
