  1. If you have a wide screen TV, yes.  If not, no.

  2. Wide screen is definately better, you can see the full picture......where as full screen cuts off part of the picture on the left & right.......with wide screen you can see everything the camera originally filmeD!

  3. Absoluty. There is however a small learning curve or accpetance curve since we see all this empty space not being used. We feel that everything is smaller so we are missing out. Not knowing that we were really missing out whats going on on the side.

Even most widescreen TVs are not wide enough compared to the original format. Next time your at the cinema, take note how wide that screen really is vs. how high..

Pending your Tv, sometimes you can compromise. I have a widescreen and i can get rid of the letter box and only miss out an inch or two from the sides. But usally Full Screen formats has loss resolution be its stretched. Like when you put a picture on your desktop computer for the wallpaper!

Next time, just flip back and forth(if your tv allows) and you can see a difference.

I think most people initially hated widescreen, but then after awhile you refuse to watch anything full screen.

    Test it out.

  4. Better in the sense they reflect the Director's intention. And in many cases contain much more information (See the link).

But if you don't like the black bars you might not consider them better. But get used to them since HD disks are all widescreen.

  5. Wide screen for sure. We have a 110" screen and wide screen looks best on it. Full screen is like blinders on a horse...

  6. all depends on your preference, I prefer full screen, you have a large screen, why not use it all?
