  1. Technically, all wild animals are dangerous, so wild wolves are especially dangerous.

  2. Not unless it's rabid, it thinks its cubs are threatened, or it's cornered.  Just back away quietly, and you'll have nothing more to worry about than convincing your friends that you were lucky enough to encounter one!

  3. probably

  4. Not unless they are rabid. Wolves are shy and wary of humans, and will generally avoid them at all costs - you would be lucky to see a wild wolf, since it would run at the first sight or scent of you. There is no record of a healthy wolf ever attacking a human. All reports of 'wolf attacks', when investigated, have proved to be attacks by feral dogs, wolf-dog hybrids, or rabid wolves. People have even crawled into wolf dens and removed the cubs, in the presence of the parents, without being attacked.

Wolves have been demonized by fairy-tales and films which depict them as blood-thirsty man-killers - this is very far from the reality. Remember that the wolf is the ancestor of man's best friend, the domestic dog. If wolves were dangerous, vicious creatures, our ancestors would never have domesticated them, and we would have no dogs today. Little Red Riding Hood has a lot to answer for.

  5. All animals (including people) could be considered dangerous. Carnivores especially. However, wild wolves are generally timid around humans. When they have sufficient habitat and food, wolves will usually try to avoid contact with people. Just as we should with them. They are not domestic and will not take kindly to being petted or followed. They will defend themselves if they have cubs, or see you as a threat to food, land, or anything else. Or if they are just in a bad mood or have a bad temperament.

Compared to other carnivorous mammals known to attack humans, the frequency of fatal wolf attacks on people is rather low. Again, I'm not condoning the dangerousness of wolves or saying that anyone should try to interact with wild wolves. I just wanted to make that clear...

    : ) Happy trails.

  6. if it fells defensive then yes

  7. well, if you look threatening or its eating or with its family it might. i really would not recommend approaching one... it would probably end badly...
