Question:

Are wireless video sender/receivers compatible with digital converter boxes?

I am considering purchasing a wireless video sender so I can mount an antenna in my attic without having to run wires through the walls.

However, I am concerned whether the basic technology will work.

Basically, I'm worried there are too many conversions.

1) the wireless video sender converts the antenna signal from the to a 2.4Ghz wireless signal.

2) The wireless video receiver converts the 2.4Ghz wireless signal back into an antenna signal, and sends it to the digital converter box over a coax cable.

3) The digital converter box converts the signal to an analog signal which can be received by my old television.

So, instead of one conversion, we have three. Does that work?

  1. It will work, but unless you only want to watch one channel, you have a problem.

Converter boxes only convert one channel at a time. ordinarily you use a remote control to change the channel on the converter box.

The wireless senders only send one channel at a time also.

There are other boxes that relay remote control signals, so you could use one of those with the converter.

Eh, how hot does your attic get in the summer?
