Is it normal for a chick to get "urges" when it's her period?

Like she's in heat? Wouldn't it seem then that women are like cats?

Some women do experience a surge in their libido during their periods due to hormones. However, the period is not a woman's fertile time, so it's not like being "in heat."

Most animals go into heat, not just cats.

An animal being in heat is not the same as a woman on her period.  Following that logic, you would get "urges" when you are fertile and ready to be impregnated.  For most women this is not during their period.

There are inherent similarities between all members of Class mammalia, but I wouldn't say that women nor their sexual tendencies are any closer to those of cats than are men's.  There's simply too much neorcortical disparity between Felidae and H. sapiens.

The menses in the least likely point at which a woman will conceive.   On the average 28 day cycle, the most likely point at which a women were to conceive would be at mid-cycle; circa day 14.

Well, I suppose you might say we're like cats in that we like to be stroked and petted and feel like purring when we're happy - even though our vocal chords don't quite allow for that.

Cats themselves, though, are more like roses - soft, pretty and full of thorns!

On second thought, there are probably plenty of my fellow females who'd fit that description, too - ESPECIALLY on their monthly periods.

(I know my daughter's PMS attacks would send a saber-toothed tiger running for cover!)

Women do have a "heat" period, sort of. Not typically when she is menstruating. But natural family planning involves taking your temperature... I think we're warmed by a degree or two when we're ovulating.
