Are women more gullible than men?

If so, why?

When they are young.  As they get older they become self-obsessed and vicious. This is why they live longer than men, but always end up alone.

Not on average. But perhaps about different things.

Many young women are gullible about relationships, but then, so are many young men.

It's probably just that women talk about relationships more.

Older men often talk about their disappointments etc when young, whereas young men typically don't talk much about their feelings.

But no-one, male or female, is immune to being gullible. In fact, there are certain con artists who prey on peop;le who believe they are very down to earth and cannot be duped ~ their very certainty often causes them to be conned!

Additionally, I suspect this notion may have its roots in some sort of stereotype of women being less intelligent (and therefore 'more gullible') than men, which is simply untrue.

Yes.. Women are a very easy target and will believe anything.... Men like to see it themselves....

women tend to be more trusting than men, that is why we come across as gullible.

I would say that women are NOT more gullible than men.  

However, this doesn't change the fact that, throughout our history, men have traditionally been the dominant s*x.  This mentality lives on.  Consequently, because females are more passive, they are more apt to be disillusioned and tricked.

And to address the issue of younger women being more gullible than older women:  Young people tend to be more gullible than old people.

I think it has more to do with background and age. When you are young you do not have much life experience. Depending on what you are exposed to, you typically have to live life for a bit before you make your mind up, or know what to do in certain situations. Live and learn is my motto!!  Both sexes can be labeled as gullible when they are young.

God no-most guys I know are far more gullible than the women,they really are!! It's funny sometimes just what they'll believe.
