Are women more the consumers or men?

Is spending more a women's thing? Or are men spending money and buying things that are less obvious and cost more or use up more rescources? E.G. who initiates most spending, and on what???

Well lets put it this way, the last item I bought that wasn't food for the week was a 3 dollar jacket from an op shop. I only wear clothes from op shops and have nothing else. Why spend 50 bucks on a piece of material you can get for 2?? I don't even bother looking in the "name brand" shops anymore because I am not going to spend over 20 bucks for a pair of shoes that only fit one outfit. I'll go to vinnies and get a great pair of boots for 4 bucks and I m set for a year or two.

Not only does vinnies save you money all of the money goes to people less fortunate than ourselves. Give while your buying shop at an op shop!

To answer that look at the major stores what are the biggest departments, and the smaller shops in most centers what do they sell

On average it's about a 70/30 mix us guy's are happy with a minim number of shoes, jeans & t's

Women spend more on everyday items while men spend more on larger items (cars, video games and systems, electronics, etc.).  As a result women spend more.  One large reason is because women do the shopping for the family, both grocery, toiletries, general items, clothes, etc.

In my experience, men will spend way more on way less, while women try to get a lot for their dollar.  That being said, we are sometimes tempted to, shall we say, "splurge" on fashion from time to time...
