Are women or men more likely to shut down when reading or hearing something they might not like?

I am writing a book for women but I am concerned that if I say some things that don't agree with the feminist movement that a lot of women will simply shut down and not give what I have to say a chance.

  1. I've been calling the ladies on a lot of stuff lately, but on this one I think it's the guys.  Women will want to argue and argue every little point they disagree with, and call it "conversation" or "communication."  Guys get to the point where we hear "blah, blah, blah," and, frankly, we don't give a d**n.

  2. Women...when you say something they dont agree with they usually shut down.  Unless they are open minded to an intelligent conversation with a guy or book written by a guy which isnt usual.  Youll have a problem with many women if you say even one tiny thing that doesnt agree with their nature... but hey ill read it...;)

  3. I think women shut down way more easily. It's because we tend to be more emotional. But you shouldn't care about that.

Write what you want and your editor will tell you if you shouldn't write it or not.

  4. As long as what you are saying is respectful towards women, and not objectifying them, then you will not lose a woman's audience.

  5. I agree with another poster-were you saying something? I can't seem to hear any longer...Do you have or want anything silly like facts or are you just looking for personal opinions? Based on this forum both feminists and anti-feminists are capable of shutting down-just as non-feminists are whether they are male or female. I think a rational person is willing to listen to differing views if they're not preached at. I've learned quite a bit from this forum-in spite of what others may think. lol

  6. I'm sorry, what were you saying?
