Question:

Are women really equal?

In today's society, women have been said to have gained equality with men (developed nations anyway). Do you really women are equal?

Or have we not yet been liberalized, and in fact are just being exploited just as much as in the past, or even more? Especially in a sexual respect by the media?

  1. Media is so bent over backwards to show strong, assertive, and sexually promiscuous women it is only a naive ideologue whom could suggest otherwise.

Pop culture is OWNED by identity politics in our era, suggestions otherwise are indeed blind, and really, uninformed.

Exploited in the past?  Oh please, do you really think that women were exploited for 125,000 years of human presence on the earth, only to be free since the early 60's by American pop culture feminist icons?

Sigh, identity politics really needs to add a little depth and soul-full searching!

  2. lets see.woman beats man,man defends himself, man goes to jail.Woman gets everything for herself and her kind, man is out cold.

so know women are not equals.

  3. Yes, I think women are equal.  Are they exploited in the media?  Of course.  The same way men, animals, the environment, and babies are.  Their exploitations are marketing, plain and simple.  They're trying to attract a certain audience, so they exploit what will draw the people in.  Is it nefarious, what they are doing?  No.  It's business.  And it will never change so long as we remain a consumerist culture.

  4. Yes. I personally have never met a women who claimed she was discriminated against. Why people in our society (both men and women) still claim to be discriminated against is beyond me. My experience is unique in that I was a male nurse for 8 years and have had more female bosses than male. I currently work in medical sales. Our sale team is comprised of 7 female and 5 male sales reps. Outside of sports, I have never been in a male dominated field. The great thing about sales is you never meet a feminist. Female sales reps are all about pay for performance and understand that people reap what they sew.

  5. Why are you complaining? What more do you want? Men at this day and age are losing rights thanks to feminism and are abused more than women despite it not being seen as often in the media.

The only more freedom I could think of for women is take 90% of the man's assets in a divorce and revoke the man's right to vote.

Women have the opportunity to have s*x much more easily than men because it takes no work. We have to work for s*x. It is because that it's so easy for girls to have s*x that many of them are called s***s. Compared to a man, it takes no effort.

Feminism served it's purpose decades ago. Equalism should really take its place.

  6. Oh please don't any one tell me how oppressed women have been.  I won't believe it.  Number one I live in Saudi Arabia right in the midst of the society and I do not feel one bit oppressed.  Granted many of you probably would.  I've been living in this society for the past 15 years.  Women back in the day were not all that oppressed either.  Many were treated quite well by their husbands, and when it came to property, sure you'd get a few jerks, but on the other hand there would be about three good men for every one  jerk.  And just about any person is going to walk all over us when we let them.  Now since when a woman had to hand her property over to her husband after marriage some women decided not to get married.  Margaret Brent was one such woman; she was the first woman in Maryland to own property.  She made a choice between keeping her property and getting married and she knew that she had a choice to make.

This is my opinion about the media, the human form sells; especially the female form, tell you what we don't like it we can always cover ourselves up.  As long as the media has something to sell it's going to go after it.  Don't forget men get exploited, too.  I mean how many of us have sat on our front porches with our mates and made comments about a guys tiny gluteus maximus, or that he looked hot.  Jeepers and we should complain.    Hey the way I answered I believe we're naturally equal, beats that same pay stuff and having job standards lowered.

  7. That's a good question.

I think women are naturally equal in respect, but not equal in nature. They deserve an equal amount of rights, but shouldn't be considered the same as men because they're truly different (this is what makes sexism and racism different, as black and white people don't naturally think differently).

As far as what people think, men and women alike generally have a higher opinion of men. They see women as being physically more beautiful but morally more bankrupt, less hard working, and shallower (which isn't true except for the whores like Paris Hilton you see on TV, who are hardly "women", most women are mothers).
