When I was in high school back around the 2000 election, a friend of mine threw her support behind Alan Keyes during the primaries. This friend was an all-around progressive feminist type, which is why I was perplexed as to why she would back a conservative republican like Keyes. When asked, she told me it was because he "thinks outside the box" and is "the underdog candidate." Thinking these were both ridiculous reasons to support a candidate, I asked her if she actually knows what he was standing for. A week later, she told me she wasn't supporting him anymore, mostly because I pwn3d her with my ability to call her on her BS.
Now I am wondering, with 56% of married American women backing Hillary, are these women supporting Clinton because they actually understand and support where she stands on the issues of the day, or are they doing so just because they want a woman in the White House? If you are a Clinton supporter, please feel free to shed some light.
