Question:

Are women supporting Hillary Clinton just because she's a woman?

When I was in high school back around the 2000 election, a friend of mine threw her support behind Alan Keyes during the primaries. This friend was an all-around progressive feminist type, which is why I was perplexed as to why she would back a conservative republican like Keyes. When asked, she told me it was because he "thinks outside the box" and is "the underdog candidate." Thinking these were both ridiculous reasons to support a candidate, I asked her if she actually knows what he was standing for. A week later, she told me she wasn't supporting him anymore, mostly because I pwn3d her with my ability to call her on her BS.

Now I am wondering, with 56% of married American women backing Hillary, are these women supporting Clinton because they actually understand and support where she stands on the issues of the day, or are they doing so just because they want a woman in the White House? If you are a Clinton supporter, please feel free to shed some light.

  1. I'm going to wait and see who wins the nomination and go from there.  Her approval rating now is taken from nationwide polls and not state by state which will give the polls new figures.  The nationwide polls are pretty meaningless.

That being said,  if she is nominated, I will likely vote for her because she is a democrat and because she is pretty sensible on most issues.  Issues that bother me are not likely to pass the house anyway.  I think she is someone who will work very hard to do the right thing if for no other reason than she doesn't like to be wrong.

Many people are trying to make a joke of her, but I think all of her opponents respect the fact that she is a viable candidate regardless of being a woman.

  2. To know whether "women" support her just because she's a woman, you'd have to ask all women.  Like men, no two are alike.  There will be men refusing to vote for her because of her s*x, not listening to what she believes.  There will be women refusing to vote for her because of [what I gauge to be] her absence of integrity.  Simplistic reasons to cast a vote are groundless reasons.  Hearing where the candidate stands, and trusting your personal reaction to the way they comport and present themselves are just grounds.  Integrity matters.  s*x doesn't.

  3. This question has been asked over a thousand times by a thousand different people?  Let's move on to more intelligent questions in Elections, shall we? The answers are all the same, it's like all you Hillary freaks are logging on and repeating yourselves....HILLARY CLINTON is BORING!!!!

Sorry, but I am entitled to my opinion...

  4. Hmm, a "progressive feminist type"?

Sounds like you need to find a better caliber of "friends"

  5. Let me get this straight. You are using one example, of a high school aged girl, to draw a conclusion about how women vote? Tell me you have more interaction with women than this.

People, men and women, choose who to vote for for many different reasons. I think there was even a poll that showed a large number of people voted for W. because they thought he'd be fun to share a drink with.

Personally, I vote for the person who best represents my views and who I would like to represent me to other world leaders. If that person happens to be a woman, it would certainly be a plus; but if it's a man, he'll get my vote.

  6. No.

Coz she is offering some hope... and will be the first woman in the W-Hse.

  7. Republicans are going to lose to a woman after their disasterous reign.

How embarrassing that must be for them.

  8. Yes

    +

  9. Nope....Its not the reason.....women are not bright just by the simple fact of being women....

The real reason is that hillary, was the brain behind her husband .......(Bill)

  10. Not many of them. Many women work and will loose the money they earn to socialism if she get's her way. Just like the men. Don't believe those poles. That is propaganda put out by the anti America media. Those numbers are phony.
