  1. I am presuming you mean cooler as in "temperature"?  LOL

I believe that wood and tile floors are cooler, it may be psychological as just the look of carpeting "warms up a room" but I have wood flooring in my house and tile in my kitchen and I find it very nice in the summer.

Should you be referring to cooler as in "IN" then I would say that wood or stone tile flooring is the way to go.

    Hope this helped.

  2. carpet traps air making it an insulator. wood is neutral, it does not trap air or trap heat, tile is the coolest because it does not transfer heat very well, that is why tile is used in areas where there is extreme temperatures.-blurey

  3. i love hardwood floors and slate floors

  4. tile floor - yes.

Wood can actually feel as warm.

    Depends on the type.

  5. Yes, we pulled up our carpet and finished the cement floors below with stain and a sealer. They are cooler and the noise carries more in the house.

  6. I don't think they have a noticeable effect on the room temp but they are definitely cooler to the touch.  And easier to clean.

  7. Yes since they are not a good conductor of heat..Carpet being more "airy" does feel warmer.. Ask any dog or cat on a sunny winter day as how warm the tile feels.(If the sun is shining on the floor..)They work great in sun rooms to hold the heat also ..

  8. yes as they are a natural product

  9. yes, definitely

  10. wood and tile are cooler, but during the winter time its gonna be really cold. your cooling and heating bill will vary due to seasons.. i work at the home depot we sell way more tile and laminante plus wood flooring that carpet. those are easier to clean but require special cleaners. carpet you only need a vacumm and a deep clean every now and then.. but it just depends on if u want to spend more money to warm it up in the winter than keep it cool in the summer months.. good luck!!!
