Are you Active Duty military or recently retired and have lived in Gaeta, Italy ?

My husband is Active Duty Navy and we are looking at our options for his next tour. We have 3 children that are elementary school age. I would like to know specifically about the base, Department of Defense schools or American schools, tuition, Base housing vs. town housing. Do military children attend school in nearby Naples? I have tried to look online for answers to my questions and am not having much luck - websites would be helpful if you are aware of any. Thank you!

  1. no

  2. We're stationed in Naples, so maybe I can offer a little help!

There is a DOD elementary school in Gaeta, but the high school kids are bused to the DOD school here in Naples.

They have Government Parcos, but not any actual base housing. I've never been in them, but I can tell you that I've heard their nice, and if they are anything like the ones here in Naples, then they should be pretty good.

I have been to Gaeta, and it's a beautiful place. I have seen some of the Italian houses and they look nice. We rent a house in here in Naples, and it absolutely stunning. You can really get beautiful homes here, and the Italian landlords are wonderful.

Some people live on the Support Site in Naples and drive to and from Gaeta everyday, but it's a a little bit of a drive!

    I hope this helps some!
