Wow! Are you people that stupid?

Bas Rutten is training this guy. Do you think Bas would put his time and energy into a doper?

Kimbo is the real deal. I am sure you 'd lose to him on youtube, too.

This was Kimbo's 3rd proffessional MMA fight.

And James Thompson is a tough guy, 6'5 365 lbs...

Any of you who disrespect KIMBO, also disrepects Bas Rutten.

And I can't believe any one thinks Bas Rutten is a joke.

I am a big Kimbo fan. I also like Bas Rutten. I don't think that Kimbo is ready for the main event yet though. He needs more fights under his belt.

no don't think either are a joke just don't think kimbo should be the main event of a promotion yet he is too new.  In a year or two then yeah if he keeps working at it.  The championship fight should have been the main event. I think CBS could have done a much better job with the thing as well, and get rid of the doctor who stopped scott and robbie's fight...

Um, Kimbo is a joke as far as MMA fighters go.  He would lose to any UFC heavy weight.  Brock would KO him in the first round.  He has to fight people with a style favorable to someone with no ground skills, any wrestler or submission expert would beat him in lightning fast time.  

* Also he tapped against "The Ear" and it was plain enough for anyone to see.

While Kimbo is a bad *** street fighter, he is an average/good striker in MMA, with little to no ground game.

He's got 1 hit knock out potential, but any talented heavyweight with a ground game has an advantage against Kimbo.  Sure it was only his 3rd fight, but he's 34.

And Brock looked way better in his 1st ( really his 2nd, but who counts japan?) MMA fight.  Also, Brock fought a real fighter in Frank, not chumps like a washed up tank abbot, who clearly did not want to fight.

Also, Kimbo admits to smoking blunts and ciggerets.  He's the bodygaurd for internet p**n mogals, and he party's his *** off in Maimi.  He is no Brock!

Thank you! Finally, someone who gets it...Kimbo is a raw talent who got a late start in the game. If anyone can up his MMA I.Q, it's Bas Rutten. If Kimbo can just develop some mobility on the ground, and bring his conditioning up a notch, he will be a force.

Thompson is a tough guy? He has had six first round losses via knock out. He is notorious for having a glass chin. Also he is 265, not 365.

Doper as in someone using drugs? Umm yes, Mark Kerr, Ricco Rodriguez, etc.

Doper as in someone not that great? Again yes.Alex Schoener, Krzysztof Soszynski ,John Shackleforth, M.A. Sotelo, Amir Rahnavardi ... I Could name a list even longer of Rutten trained fighters that weren't ready even for the IFL.

Apparently you don't know a lot about El Guapo, the guy is incredibly business savy. He took up Kimbo because it would draw attention to Bas. Bas is the real deal, but he isn't anywhere remotely an elite level Coach like Miletich, Chute Box, or a Greg Jackson even. He just is a legend in the sport.

Good fighters don't always make great trainers.

Disrespecting Kimbo isn't disrespecting Bas, you don't see Bas out there putting his name and full power behind Kimbo. They aren't blood brothers or anything.

Bas EARNED his way to where he got. No one thinks Bas is a joke as a fighter.

KImbo is the Tay Zonday of the fighting world. That doesn't mean he doesn't have some legitimate skill and couldn't turn out to be a good fighter. It just means he is severely lacking in tools in MMA, and that he should not be a headliner event type of fighter. He should be like how Brock has been brought on board.

Also by disrespecting a fighter, you aren't disrespecting his Coach. Only a fighter can do that, if a fighter goes out and puts on an embarassing display or is outclasses and looks sloppy and uncoached, then he disrespects his Coach.

Kimbo isn't Bas's top student by far, nor is he the golden childen of Legends MMA. Kimbo is being respected because he takes this seriously and trains hard and accepts that he is just starting at this.

No one disrespects kimbo directly for any of that. What they disrespect or the people who think he is a top 5 HW fighter in MMA, or could take on even a top 20 guy..

I think Kimbo will end up getting better but will never make it to even the top 10 of HWs in the world. But he has some skills...

But let's not make it out like he is an unstoppable force. He is a modern day Tank Abbott, and sooner or later he will be forced to fight someone that will quickly take advantage of his weaknesses, and half of the hype will die down quickly, with some anticipation on his return after a loss..

Essentially look for Kimbo to have about 10 fights total before fading out into relative obscurity.

Bas Rutten is the smart one here. He's riding the Kimbo Cash-Cow alllll the way to the bank. But seriously, Kimbo is ****. He takes 3 rounds to win a dubious stoppage over the 265 pound (not 365) MMA mascot for glass chins the world over. Aleksander Emelianenko knocked out Thompson in 12 bloddy seconds, after he had just woken up from an after-lunch nap. Seriously, go nuthug Kimbo over at the sherdog forums, troll.

James Thompson is below average and he was winning until the worst stoppage ever in mma. Not to mention the second round would have been the last because Thompson should have got the stoppage.

So do all of Bas Rutten's students deserve to be a headline event above Robbie Lawler?  WOW!  I'm in the wrong school.

Kimbo doesn't deserve to be on the fight card as the main event.  He should be allowed to fight at his level, and work his way up...no question.  But come on - he gassed after 1 freaking round.  Putting a guy like that as the "top fight" is an insult.  I mean did you SEE the fight?   These 2 guys slugged each other for a minute, and when it went to the ground it was the most elementary, lame, boring fight I've ever seen televised.   Maybe you saw something different.

I haven't heard anyone insult Bas Rutten, either.   He's a legend.  But KIMBO?  Dude...Bas has only had Kimbo for maybe a year.  If you ask Bas, I'd bet you anything he'd say Kimbo shouldn't headline.   Did you see Bas in Kimbo's corner?  Did you see him in the locker room?  For the walk-out?   In the crowd?  Did you see Bas promoting this fight on TV?  Did his name come up ANYWHERE relating to this fight other than know-nothings on Yahoo?  I didn't.  

And being 6 ft 5 and 365 lbs does'nt make you a tough guy, just a big one.   Don't call anyone stupid until you know what you are talking about bro.  It makes you seem....Stupid.

I don't think that Bas Rutten is a joke. I think that as of right now kimbo needs more work. His conditioning is lacking. h**l yeah he's a tough guy, all his you tube viewers know that!! BUT I honestly think that Thompson would of won the fight...d**n his ear! He also needs to work on his ground skills, he can't depend on his hammer fists, if he's fighting a guy with great ground skills.
