I believe that the year 2012 will happen.  It'll happen when the year 2011 has ended.  And after 2012 will come the year 2013, and so on and so forth, in numerical sequence.  That's the way our calendar works.

The world will end about 3 or 4 billion years from now when the sun exhausts all its hydrogen and becomes a read giant, frying the inner planets in the process.

Like the previous users answered, doomsday has been predicted over and over for centuries. I remember scads of them when I was a kid, and used to be scared each time.

The only thing I believe about the year 2012...is that....we will be around after it......plus...to tell all the people how ridiculous they sounded for getting all panicked for nothing.

Of course 2012 will happen.  Thats when the London Olympics are!  I can't wait to see them!  I don't get what you find so scary about olympics.  It may seem a little awkward watching men in really tight clothing run alongside and beating eachother, or men in speedos, but its still fun to watch the countries compete.

Or did you mean that bogus about the Mayan Calander, even though the Mayans were wiped out by people who they believed would bring peace to them?

The world was going to end when the date was June 6th, 666. Then it was going to end in 1000 AD. Then again in 2000 AD. Now I guess it is going to end in 2012...

You better all run! We have been very efficient in predicting the end of the world huh?

Please! There is nothing as of yet to say if or when the end of the world will be so let's all try and find something else to keep our minds on that makes more sense.

I'm not a believer but I would love to learn more about it. I've seen several episodes on the History channel about it but when I search for websites all I find is crazy doomsday cults with bogus information. So if you come across a legit site with actual info let me know please.
