  1. If Warren Buffet says so, so do I! Better to have money in a mixed basket of eggs than having a real big egg that could crack!


  2. Yes, they are a great way of getting a diversified portfolio, and Vanguard and Fidelity have low fees.

  4. They have their place in  a portfolio.  I still prefer managed, no-load, low fee funds more. ETF's can be cheaper than the open ended funds (for indexes).

    I wouldn't have more than 50% of my portfolio in index products (either ETF's or Mutual Funds).  Keep on top of your "asset allocation" and you'll do fine.

  5. Yes.  I like to average down. And we've been doing "down." The more it goes down the more I put in.
