  1. You bet marriage is harder. Very long hours, high stress, very high divorce rate.

  2. I dated my husband for 5 years before we got married.  During that time we were both police officers.  I resigned within the last two yrs. for medical reasons.  When he proposed to me I had no intentions of leaving the force.  I loved it...for the most part.  I may not wear th badge anymore but I do in my heart...if that makes any sense.  I miss it a lot.  (thankfully for Yahoo answers....it's kind like an outlet LOL)  Anyone who is married to a PO knows it's not easy....no relationship is.  My husband is on call two weeks out of every four weeks.  We have to plan our lives around his schedule....if you can imagine.  I think it helps my husband (and me), knowing that I know how he feels when he complains about another officer/citizen/ supervisor.......which isn't that frequently.  I understand what he's talking about.  There is an additional bond between us including the bond that a husband and wife have.  The divorce rate for PO's is statistically higher.  So imagine the statics with two officers married to each other.  However, my personal opinion there is no difference.  I know of couples who are both PO's and their relationship surpassed the relationship of the next who are not both officers & visa versa.  It depend on how strong your relationship is and how hard your willing to fight for it.
