I was until I got chucked off Y!A last time, but found almost everyone to be either greedy or unreliable.

Yes, i am . i have given a lot to needy people and the best thing about it is the fact that you see the persons face when they are pleased. I love it, i may be selfish but i love to help people out, it gives me a kick!!

Yep.  Anyone can join the freecycle e-mail groups, and they are categorized by locality...  For a full list, type "freecycle" in YG! home page (currently, there are 8826 freecycle group in YG!), or visit http://www.freecycle.org/  I do not believe these two sources are connected; you should take these lists as complimentary to each other.  The second link also helps you locate a group in your locality.  On it's home page, it writes:

It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills.
