My kids tell me I am strict but very fair. Not that I am looking for praise from anyone, but my family and my girlfriend tell me I'm doing a good job.

I did not need anyone to tell me whether I am a good parent or a bad one. I have a conscience and can work that out for myself . I have grown up children who are professionals in their field . My grandchildren love me and love to spend time with me.I am not rich but reasonably comfortable and that is because I am prudent & not because I have anything special .I would like things to stay that way.

My Priest told me I was a good parent..If you can't trust a Priest about kids who can you trust?

Define "good parent" !

If good parent means LOVING my children, CARING for my children, putting my children and family FIRST,  happy when they are happy and sad when they are sad, if  I rejoice at their initial little successes, if I do not,  knowingly or recklessly, put them in situations that can do them harm,  then what else can I be but a good parent ?  

I don't need anyone to tell me.    ---I KNOW !!

I don't need telling!! My 3 kids have grown up happy and well balanced. They have never brought trouble home, and all 3 work, and pay their way in life. Best of all, they are our best friends, and all get on well with each other too. I don't think I've made a good job of bringing them up. I KNOW IT!!!

I think and hope so. My ex partner told me, as has my best friend, but the only people who will truly be able to judge are my boys, and that won't be for a long time yet.

i was a terrible parent. i made a million mistakes.  my son told me .  i was not perfect by a long way but i loved my children and still do. i have to add that they love me too.despite my mistakes.

I am a good parent, however I don't need people to tell me that I am. I take care of her needs, she has everything she needs and is happy, healthy and thriving. Several people tell me I am a good parent but that's not why I know I am. I know because of how my little girl loves me!

what is a good parent...i have 4 kids..luv em all..never smack em..give em wot they want..in reason..listen to em when they talk..i respect my kids as i want respect too..don,t make em do lottsa housework as they got that to come when they are adults...i just let em be kids

Katkat makes a fair point  "but the only people who will truly be able to judge are my boys". Being a good parent is a learning process and may partly depend on your own experiences with your own parents. I wish I had done better in certain instances even though things turned out OK.Often I've thought I wish I knew then what I know now.

I often felt as though I were the worst parent in the world.  But when other parents, and her teachers,  would tell me how polite and pleasant my daughter was, I knew that I must be doing something right.

My son always tells me I'm the best mum in the world! I think not, but I've done the best I can and done it with love.
