  1. I'm not a jerk to anyone unless they deserve it.

  2. I'm not a jerk, but I believe most servers are S**T.  I tip accordingly, but I always start at 20% and work backwards.  I'm not cheap, but it's a gratuity and an incentive to take good care of your tables.  It's not the servers fault if the kitchen is slow, or a messed up drink order is okay, as long as they take care of it it's fine!  I hate it when you bring up an issue and the server argues with you (no, you ordered this one.. or, you didn't say no onions or I would have wrote it)  You aren't my slave, but take pride in your job, and take good care of your tables.  It only takes 15 seconds to walk to the serving stand and get a new fork, there is no reason you have to go to the kitchen, bring someone else's order out, take another tables order and work your way over there.  If one of your tables is missing a fork, then take care of it NOW, don't do it when it's convenient for you.

  3. My grown niece invited us out to dinner once, she was so rude to the server, I was embarrassed for her.

In her case, it seemed she enjoyed having power over the server (a woman over 30), who knew the tip depended on making this smart mouthed person happy. Shows a small minded personality and I was sorry to realize my niece had grown into such a mean spirited person.

I GAVE THE SERVER A BIG TIP. She deserved it after an hour of my niece !

  4. The word TIPS means "to insure proper service".  I should not have to ask for my tea to be refilled, to wait if my order is wrong or  my waiter/waitress pass my table without even a glance.  No, I'm not a jerk, but at today's restaurant prices, I expect my order to be correct, hot and brought to me in a timely fashion.

  5. Nope ...  I normally try my best to be nice even though I may have had a bad day.  The last thng I need is crappy slow service because the server wants to avoid me.

  6. Not a jerk, always nice, and forgiving of little mistakes. I don't deduct percentage points either. You get a tip, but if I come back, I will remember you and finagle my way to a diff servers area, if I come back. If you were good, I will ask for you, and if you are great, the tip goes up.

  7. I am exceedingly kind to my server.  Let the A**hole at the next table over get HIS food spat in. People think that it doesn't happen. Think again.

  8. I'm nice to my server and if a mistake was made in the preparation of my meal, I know it wasn't the server's fault. I calmly explain the issue to the server, and I usually leave around a 20% tip when I pay my bill.
