I personally don't 'get it'. People are starving in other countries. Poverty is great in many places, including our own country. There are so many problems and charities that run for the homeless and unwanted babies for no profit. And yet these sports player get more money a year than a social worker or a Nurse's Aide. People seem obsessed with 'games' and I personally don't understand. Can someone please explain the 'hype' to me, because I don't understand why sports are so important? I can see it being a fun thing and to compete and have fun and bond and bring people together. But I don't' understand the large amounts of money that go to a hockey or football player. I don't understand how these people are willing to get injured and wreck their body for life in a game. And I don't understand why people get angry when people like me call it 'a game'. What is it if is it not a game?

Help me understand please.

  1. Think of it this way, play sport..u keep fit...u keep fit...u live longer

    simple as that

  2. I like sports, because it makes me feel good when the Flames win, and when the Flames lose, it's fun to find excuses and complain to all of my friends.

  3. yea i think its dumb theypay ppl millions just so we can watch them  do something we could do

  4. i dont understand the money issue either...i think its just an issue of the general masses being sheep...i love sports playing them is fun watching is ok competing is amazing but to spend that much money on a ticket and make around $100,000 a year more or less (probably alot less for most ppl) and watch someone who is over 10 times wat ur making...ppl are just easily led and to dumb to realize it
