  1. So far this is my second year playing volleyball... I lettered in both freshman and this sophomore year. The first time i tried out AND the first year i played was for the highschool that had a volleyball program which was ranked the best team in the western part of our state... I made the team and i couldnt believe it. I wasnt that good but i joined a club team after i moved to a different school which made me a better player... i made JV this year and tomorrow im trying out for a club team again so i can be better for next season.

My tip to you is to work out and practice during off season and PLAY CLUB during off season too! Do camps and clinics before your school try outs. Watch a lot of volleyball games on tv, on demand, and you tube. Observe how they play and their posture when they pass, set, hit.

  2. I haven't been playing for years just a couple of months. But for a newcomer I feel I have inproved alot! Sorry i don't really have any tips besides practice makes perfect! Goos Luck!

  3. I have been playing volleyball for five years. I can tell you that after the first year, you want to get more. Practice more with your friends and teamates. The next year, coaches want more than your last year; especially if you have the same coach the next year. My plan was to be consistant. If you are good at one thing, then use that to put yourself above everybody else.

  4. i have been playing vball for two years. and im glad that ive joined this year.

    tips;

    ;never show off

    ;dive for balls

;never give up/never let the ball touch the ground

  5. I've played for about 10 years, I lettered as a sophmore and since high school I'e been coaching.  I would say just work really hard.  If you're the hardest worker... a true get after it player, nothing hits the floor, coaches are going to have a hard time benching you.  The trick is to really have that attitude though, not just say you've got it.

  6. of course i am. =D

    i love volleyball.

ive been playing for 3 yrs.

    since my 7th grade year.

    now ima freshman.

well you should expect underclassmen to look

up to you. and your coaches are gonna get harder

and harder on u. and the reffs are gonna be callin

alot more things. so prepare for that. and u will be

learning more rotations.. but its gonna b fun

    =D

  7. yea man

umm 4 years.... i started in 6th grade and never had an underhand serve....  practice! :]

  8. Yes I have and I've played for about 2 years.

  9. Ya! i love volleyball! im a freshmen in highschool and ive started on the varsity team! ive been playing for 4 years. my advice?

-work hard even if the coach isnt looking.

-get a wooden box and jump up on it then jump off and practice your blocking form.  it has helped me!

-work on your leg muscles it will help you for jumping and bumping.

-eat a light snack before practice or youll get light headed i did. hehe.

  10. YEA-YUH! i just finished my 3rd year. it was soooooo fun.

  11. yeah i'm a volleyball player!!! i luv the sport!!! i've been playing for 2 years now!!! you may want to work on going down on your knees.  i love how it feels whan you're down on your knees and hit the balls, I feel so alive.  how do you serve overhand??? fist closed or open? hope this helps!!!!

  12. i have played vb for about 10 years ever since 4th grade, congrats on the over hand serving, just be sure to practice in the off season, and try to join a team, either competive or not that doesnt really matter, just playing will develop your skills.

  13. im a freshman and i lettered this year. ive been playing for about 5 years.  the best advice i can give you is to go to camps at the local highschool or college. they are such a big help. you can learn so much in that short period of time. most of the camps are held in the summer though.

  14. yes, this is my 4th year playing volleyball.

be obnoxiously loud.  show the coaches you want it more then other players.  huscle and eat plenty of carbs before you tryout.

  15. noooo but thats cool

  16. I started volleyball last year in 7th grade. Now I'm in 8th grade, but I'm not that good. I love the sport anyway. I guess some tips are to practice, practice, practice. And when you're playing a game, you must communicate with your team. Good job with the overhand serving. I'm bad at that.

  17. Yeah I just finished my second year of volleyball we went to the first round of regionals

All I can say is that my first year of volleyball sucked we won all our games but we had no competion so we won in 2 games(that was on our JV team)

Everyone this year moved up to Varsity because we are a young team we barely made it to regionals

Just keep practicing and have good team spirit

  18. yes I am a volleyball player.

  19. I lettered my junior year.  My best effort was moving my body with my hits.  I always bent arms and legs in the direction I wanted the ball to go in.  It is important to let the ball come to you and not try to hit it too soon if you have the opportunity (Unless you are diving!)  Talk to your team mates, it's not enough space to warrant lack of communication!  Lots of bruised heads that way! - Good Luck next year, I love the sport!

  20. yeah i am and mysuggestion to you is to get low and follow what your coaches tell you. dont be afraid of calling the ball and be sure to get in shape it helps a lot.

  21. I played varsity my freshman year, and went on to play college ball, and now I play leagues and tournaments as an adult.

The only tips I have is to PRACTICE everything and LISTEN TO YOUR COACH.  I would also go to at least one camp each summer - this will give you exposure, as well as expose you to other coaching styles and different players.  That was how I got my college scholarship - I went to a volleyball camp run by some college coaches.

  22. ues. i lettered my freshman year, and we were good.

make sure you snap your wrists and get low on defence. there are bunches of sites you can go to to get some more info, like matchpoint and stuff.

or you could buy dvds istead of trying to make sense of what people say on here.

  23. Yes I am. I've been playing for 6 years and I love it! Tips would be to do your best, don't stress out, and to have fun! Good luck with your season!

  24. I've played for 7 years and Im 13, so I don't know f you want my advise, but I would say try doing al the volleyball camps and rec you can, and try out for travle it will help you greatly

  25. i have been playing v-ball for two years and i can do a pretty awesome jump serve

  26. This is my second year!

  27. I'm not; I'm a runner.  But I lived in "The Birthplace of Volleyball" for 20+ years.  The V' Hall of Fame is there.  The city is Holyoke, Massachusetts.
