Are you able to buy items from online retailers with a debit card?

I know the answer is a yes, what I'm really wanting to ask is how is there anyway I can make a major purchase (say an HDTV, computer) and pay using my debit card but not pay the full price right away? Is there no "money down, monthly payment" option available in any sort of way for a debit card? thanks in advance.

If you understand that a debit card is also know as a check card, or an ATM card that draws money directly out of your bank account, it's the same as writing a check.  You cannot write a check for more than what is in your account.

You need to have a credit feature on your account or set up separate financing.

Nope, you need a credit card, or you can set up a line of credit at your bank thats attached to your checking account.  Anytime you go over the extra gets put on a loan you have to make payments to.
