Are you able to get any surgery for your eyes if you have the vision of -1700?

I have very very bad vision...my left eye is -1700 and my right side is -900, is it possible for like laser or lasik?

  1. If all other factors make you a candidate (ie. that your cornea is thick enough and you don't have any other conditions of the eye), you could get surgery done to decrease your prescription.  It is not possible to correct the full -17.00 or

    -9.00.  But if you could decrease the vision, then you could wear contacts or glasses more comfortably without so many peripheral distortions.

  3. If you think distorted vision is bad, try using google to find some of the lasik horror stories.

    There are way too many risks- decrease in night vision, decrease in BCVA, dry eye that can be chronic and severe and quite painful (which some people will live with for the rest of their life.)

    These eyes, they're the only ones you're ever  going to get. Take care of them.
