Are you afraid of Encyclopedia Salesmen??

Edit: the last one told me he was a burglar (in order to coax me I guess).. he added he just wanted to come in and steal a few things..So I finally opened the door. But in fact he was an Encyclopedia Salesmen!

Ha ha I didn't know they actually existed. So they actually come round selling encyclopedias? Well I don't think you should be scared of them. I used to work in sales and I never let anyone force me into buying anything. Is that what you mean or are you just scared of the people selling encyclopedias in general. If you don't want an encyclopedia just flat out say no and shut the door. If they put their foot in the door give them a kick in the balls.

No and I'm not afraid of Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses either. Having an intercom helps, but even before that I could get rid of door-to-door salesman.

My dear departed mother-in-law had a good trick. One day a guy came to her door selling brooms, mops and dusters. She let him in and then said, 'I don't need anything, but my daughter.in.law has just moved house.'

I would have told the guy to get lost,but I ended up buying a brush from him, which I didn't need.

The last one to knock at our door was 30 yrs ago, he stayed for ages, but we didn't buy any.
