I'm a student pilot, and I fly single engine airplanes. My parents however, are afraid of a 19 seat airliner we saw in denver. I would like to know, how scared of you are airplanes? I'll give you some links to pictures, just copy and paste them into your browser, look at them, and tell me if you are afraid of flying in them. Extra comments welcome!

  1. wow

  2. Those all look pretty scary, especially that last one. It's got so many computers in it that a few well placed refrigerator magnets in the cockpit will disable it but good. You'll never get me on one of them things!

  3. sort of. i was on a reaaalllllyyyy scaryy roller coaster before and it went so high i just imagined i was flying. and even then i got scared because it went down soooo fast you cannot imagine! that was the scariest moment of a life time

  4. 1. Not at all. People have been flying in Warriors for years and doing it very safely.

    2. Not afraid at all. Very safe.

    3. The Beech 1900 is basically a stretched Beech King Air, a very successful twin engined prop aircraft. I used to be a flight dispatcher for Great Lakes Airlines, who operates the aircraft in the picture. Good airplane.

    4. The A319 is a great airplane and very safe. Fly-by-wire technology.

  5. Nope, just crashing.

  6. 1.  I have a ton of time in Piper Singles, Great Planes.  Safety depends on the pilot flying them and the maintenance history.

    3. Your parents have nothing to worry about on the 19 seat Beechraft 1900.  They are built tough.  The pilots at Great Lakes are some of best in the industry.  They don't get the luxury of flying around with an autopilot, so they can fly the $#!^ out of an airplane.  A couple of them did a simulator ride for an interview at our company and nobody else there could hand fly ILS like they could.  I mean it was right on the whole way.

    4.  Why not be comfortable flying in an Airbus.  They have a great safety record.  They engines just sound a little funny:)
