I had to get one for meningitis. I'm not afraid, but it hurt! LOL My arm was sore for awhile. Usually, (when I get blood drawn) it's not a big deal. But this one hurt.

How about you? You get nervous?

  1. I used to before I got into the medical field. We practiced giving shots on each other...so I had to get over that fear really quick fast and in a hurry. Now I just pay it no attention...unless I get a person who is very rough...then I will fuss at them or ask for another person to do it.

  2. yes i am like terrafied of needles. Probably because when i was small like 7 years old i had to get my blood drawn and i remember the nurse missed the vein like 3 different times she actually popped them so she kept jabbing that needle into me and i was freaking out. And thats why i think i am so afraid of needles

  3. I give blood every 3 months or so, I'm not afraid of needles but I definitely don't like them. When I have to wait in line for long I start getting VERY nervous and shaky haha.

  4. No, actually I'm not...

I find it quite enjoyable...just kidding I'm not that much of a freak. lol.

My daughter HATES getting her shots...

  5. i dont much care for them but they dont like freak me out i had to go get blood drawn today actually

  6. Nah not at all.

I used to be until I got all my piercings ^_^.

  7. lol

some shots hurt worse cus of how thick the medicine they are putting into u and the needle

but im scare before they do but then its nothing

i like getting the shots in my mouth

just cus it makes my face all numb lol

  8. Depends on what type of injection.  I don't mind an intramuscular injection but I hate a subcutaneous injection.

  9. Nope.  Not at all.

Sure it may hurt after, but I just stick it out.

  10. I'm not afraid of getting shots. I got a flu shot last Feb and that made my arm sore though.

But when they draw blood, I CANNOT look at it. If I do I get really light headed and I feel like I'm going to faint. So I have to turn my head.I guess it's psychological because I'm fine if I don't see, but if I see my blood shooting into that tube it feels like the life is draining from my body.

  11. A bit but then I think it's for a good reason and it doesn't even hurt that much when it's done it's just the anticipation.

  12. No, not really. I have a fairly high tolerance for pain, If you want to experience pain, get a broken bone set without anesthetic. My orthopedist explained that he didn't warn me because he didn't want me fighting back when he set my ankle.

Suffice to say that there were some children out in waiting room that heard several very choice words that they'd never heard before.

The bee sting feeling of a shot and muscle ache pales in comparison to the pain of having a bone set.

I need a local anesthetic to get a wisdom tooth pulled? Bring it on. I found the pointy end of a rusty nail with my foot the painful way and need a tetanus shot? Okay.

Realizing I need an injection usually prompts the response of "aw, nuts." out of me. It still beats the dread I have of letting a broken bone be set without anesthetic, or the guilty feeling as angry mothers stare angrily at me due to a number of very loud profanities and blasphemies.

  13. That's interesting..

Because for me it is the exact opposite, actually. ;)

I think shots are okay, but I absolutely HATE getting blood drawn!

    Hehe... =D

However, I cannot say that I particularly like needles all in all.

If I did, I would have a rad tattoo by now! I really, really want one..

Oh well.. Perhaps one day I will just go ahead and do it no matter what.

  14. *shudders* I. Hate. Needles.

I have a huge problem with things being stuck into other things. That's why I have a huge problem with certain scary movies. I can't watch someone be stabbed or cut or something.

That's a reason why I'm surprised that I had cut myself three times almost a year ago. *shudders again at the thought*

  15. I was when I was little, but now it really doesn't bother me..

  16. I am a little afraid of getting injections, but it is more of an apprehensive feeling. I have to give myself a shot twice a week, so if I was absolutely terrified it would be a big problem!

  17. No not nervous but it's really sore

  18. Im not scared of the needle itself but im scared of what disease might be lurking on the needle.  So far so good though...
