Question:

Are you afraid when living alone?

This is my first night alone in my new apt. my fiance and son are still back in our hometown. They won't be here till October bc of my schedule (military training). I don't know why and I know it's silly but I am a bit nervous living alone in a place I've never been. The neighborhood is very safe and nice but I just am afraid of every noise I hear and I seriously have all the lights on right now..lol. Anyone else? Any tips to make this feeling go away, do you get used to it?

  1. plain and simple, tv keeps you company<3

when im scared or feeling alone, i switch on

the television, get a snack, cuddle up in a blanket and watch tv and go on the computer.

  2. You'll get used to it.  Turn on a radio or TV...if need be leave it on when you go to bed.  Turn the lights off, that will keep you up.  When you get time, walk around your neighborhood, so it becomes more familiar to you.  Good luck with your move and training!  (psychologist)

  3. That always happens when you move into somewhere new because you dont know much about it and youre not used to it. That happened to me but i promise youll get settled. Try talking on the phone with friends time flys..

  4. when i was 12 i went to a sleepover at my best friend's house and her mum put on the movie 'scream'. a very irresponsible thing to do at a 12th birthday! well, for months after watching that movie i had nightmares and couldnt be by myself or turn the light off. it too years for me to get rid of the nightmares and get back to normal.....and i will never EVER watch that movie again!

i'm now 21, and i still dont like being home alone, but when i am i turn on some music or the tv just so there is something on in the background......(and i dont answer the phone!)

it is difficult being by yourself in a new place, but you will eventually get used to it :)

    good luck!

  5. l feel the same way alot!

Turn on the tv, buy some of your fav food and snuggle up on the couch.

Put on a dvd, it seperates you from the real world for an hour and a half! so you forget your fears. Turn on the heater if its cold also.

Well, its winter here in Australia but anyway.

    Hope I helped! =)

  6. I understand your concern. And it will continue to be a problem for a few nights, but you will get somewhat used to it. As long as you are sure the doors are locked and all windows are locked, you will be safe. Just remember, don't ever open the door to anyone unless you are positive you know them. Good luck and sleep well.

  7. get a dog

a cute cuddly one witch you can cuddle with or

a vicious but obedient pit bull Rottweiler or doberman but is cuddly and a guard dog?
