Usualy in all international tour selectors used to select 2

wicket keepers. in case of injury of main wc. other will be

available, because alternate arrangement of wc. is must. .

I think this is wrong decesion ,they may send 16 players

in place of 15 but 2 wicket keepers are must for a team.

  1. no having one wicket keeper in a squad is not enough. Players always have a risk that they become unfit. if wicketkeeper becomes unfit then who will do the wicketkeeping?????????

    its a risk always.

  2. Good question this is the only Draw back in this team selection

  3. no

  4. There are two tours involved, one the tri series in Bangladesh and the other the Asia Cup in Pakistan. As u have rightly pointed having one wicket keeper is not enough. But our Dhoni will not allow more than one wicket keeper. He conveniently saw off Dinesh Kaarthick from the team and snubber Parthiv Patel in the bud when he was coming dangerously close to take his place. What a Pity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. THEY CAN MANAGE.

  6. no, it's a risk always

  7. if the tour is short then 1 WC is ok. if the tour is long say for 2/3 months of time then would prefer to go with 2 WCs

  8. No, you either need to pick an extra squad member who is a specialist keeper or you need a batsman who is competent enough to do the job until a replacement can be flown out in the case of injury to the first choice keeper.

The Indians are lucky to have Dravid in the squad, he would have been a very good keeper if he had needed to work at it. England previously had Trescothick, who would also have been a very good keeper given practice. Either of those players in your touring squad would allow you to pick a single keeper and to nominate a back-up who would only join the tour if needed.

  9. Its a short tour one wicket keeper is not enough

but due to short tour they can manage.

  10. Yes.1 is indeed enough. If that cricketer gets injured, any other keeper who can keep may take the gloves. If tehy take 2,then that is good. But they  can do with 1.For India if they take only dhoni, even Uthappa can keep.Even Rahul can & so on!

  11. Yes, it is enough !!
