Are you all Organic and natural and is your spouse?

Over the last few years, I have moved over to organic when I can get it. I use mostly organic or natural products, but the wife is harder to move over. She always finds somethings wrong with them and sticks with her nasty hair dyes and unsafe hair care products laced with bad ingredients.

Has anyone else dealt with this.. Have you been able to get your spouse on the right track

  1. There are some things that are worth the extra money, there are also some things that aren't - for example: organic bananas - the peel protects, and organic does nothing for you- except maybe to help the environment a little.  Potatoes  - definately worth it since they actually sit in the pesticide for a period of time.

I doubt that there are hair dyes that are organic - and if there are, they don't look the same.  I've tried "natural" hairspray and it sucks.  Here's the thing - when you married her, was she this way?  If so then as you admit, you are the one who changed, and I doubt she will be changing soon.

My brother married someone who is into alternative medicine and all natural health care.  He likes all that, but sometimes he resorts to his old way of doing things: she has yet to give him something that helps his terrible chronic allergies as well as benadryl, and when he had a backache he couldn't stand, he took advil and even a few pain killers (turns out he slipped a disk - no small pain).  They have "discussions" about it and how harmful it is, but in the end it's his body and he has to deal with the pain and suffering - he is the one who has to choose.  You will have to either learn to deal with the fact that SHE has to make the decision to change or not change, and either you can live with it or not.  Honestly, at least she's not gambling all your money away, cheating or lying to you about some addiction.

It could be worse, if you ask me.

  2. i have to first get myself to go organic, it's costly and right now with gas & the economy the way it is, i sadly can't afford to at this time. I def. want to try the organic chicken breast.
