are you allergic to poison ivy and have you ever taken benadryl or a generic form of it before you go out in to the woods or camping? or yard work?

  1. I used to get it a TON when I was a kid, but since I have gotten older, it doesn't affect me one bit. I guess my body has built an immunity against it? If that's possible? Same with bee stings...I was deathly allergic to them when I was younger, but not any more. The human body is a miraculous thing.


  2. Yes! I'm terribly allergic to it. But I have never taken Benadryl or equivalent prior to exposure. I have found a product that seems to minimize the outbreak. Its called tecnu, and you use it to wash your skin and clothing after contact with the plant. Supposedly, it washes away the oils that cause the breakout.
