Are you allowd food in checked luggage international flights?

Im flying from TX to London, i was wondering if i can bring a hole suitcase full of food over there for the family (we dont have allot of the stuff you sell here there) So is a hole suitcase exceptable if its just boxed goods like cookies and cereal? what about cans and jars? THANKS EVERYONE

  3. watch the weight, it can only weigh so much.

  4. Better check with English customs. They do not like foreign foods coming in without inspection and it could be a crime.

  6. i am not a reliable source, so dont take my word for it. but, i do know what they stopped a friend of mine in the uk from bringing to see us here in nj.

    as long as its not liquid or meat or something, they shouldnt have a problem. i dont see cans as an issue, maybe jars, but boxed stuff is fine.

    if you call your airline and ask - im sure they will be able to tell you. if anyone gives you a problem at security, tell them that the airline already said its ok. theyr your best bet.

  8. I would contact the English Embassy before you leave. I know that if you were coming to Australia, you would probably have most of the food confiscated. We have very strict quarantine rules here. I am not sure about England though. So to save yourself the money for the food, and fines, and possibly jail. Check with the English Embassy.
