I saw some people on the road riding bicycles while drunk and thought how can they keep their balance. This is why I asked the question.

  1. If they could still ride, they weren't that drunk.  If you are really drunk it is hard to push a bicycle moreless know where you are going.

  2. yes you can. it is called a BUI, no joke.  i live in a college town san luis obispo where everyone gets around on bikes. i talked to a police officer ther and he said he has given them out before, however he said to get one you need to be totally f d up. all of the ones hes heard of people getting the person had fallen or was driving in the mifddle of the road swerving.i would assume that if you were drinking while riding you would get one as well or at leas a drunk in ppublic or driinking in public

  3. no ofcourse u can have an accident

  4. No, it's still a DUI.

  5. My uncle his transportation was his ten speed. He went to the bar and on his way back home he got an DUI. I thought he was kidding but it's true. So be warned and careful.

  6. No, I doubted due to you can put yourself or someone else in danger regardless if it is a bike or car.

  7. As of June 1st, 2007 in South Dakota, you can no longer receive a DUI for riding a bicycle under the influence, however you can still be ticketed or arrested for public intoxication.

As for specifically drinking while riding, it's hard to handle a bike with one hand, and you could be ticketed for an open-container violation.

    Get out and ride--SOBER!
