I was pulled over because my windshield was cracked. The officer would not accept my bond card and took my license. Am I allowed to drive as long as I get it fixed and appear in court next month?

  1. Honestly, it depends where you live, and who you know.  I would, personally! but then I live in a little town where everybody knows everybody else (whether they like it or not).  If you still have the paper license plate that came in the back window when you first bought it, MAYBE put it back; it's just a few weeks.  FIX that crack and say some prayers.  Be extra careful and causious.

  2. Yes, you can drive. The officer took your license, not your driving privilege. Only a court can take away your driving privilege, not an officer.

He took your license for bond, to guarantee your appearance in court.

  3. no.  unless you received a citation that says "10 day driving permit only", you can NOT drive.

why were you giving the officer your bond card?  was your license suspended?

  4. Yes, you can still drive without your license  physically on you.  However, if you get pulled over, you could be faced with a ticket for not having your license on you.

  5. He took your license so how do you plan to drive? Get it fixed go to court with a repair slip stating that it was repaired and then when you are given your license back, hit the road.

  6. What's a bond card?  Some form of bribery?  Don't drive the vehicle until it is fixed...or you can keep getting new citations, which you would deserve for doing so.  Why are you going to court over a cracked windshield?  Just get it fixed, then go get it dismissed.

  7. that would have to be a very big ticket if you wanted to drive on the

ticket! (well thats what you asked!)

most tickets are too small to drive on the ticket
